View Full Version : Smitten by Alison Stewart or Who's Your Favorite Newsbabe?

Last night I tuned in to watch "Keith Olbermann's Countdown" shown on MSNBC and was delighted by the guest host, http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3080452/Alison Stewart (http://msnbc/id/3080452/).

Stewart is very smart, funny, drop dead gorgeous and most likely earns enough pay to support herself. Other than that she doesn't have a thing going for her. So color me smitten, at least until she reads this and files for the appropriate restraining order.

So do tell. Which newsbabe/or newshunk do you prefer?

Sumi Das formerly of Tech TV's Fresh Gear, and now a broadcaster on a local (I think) news program, and I can't remember, really puts the heat in my balloon. When the program first started her hair was very short, and over the years she let it grow out. IMO, an excellent move. Perfect. Hair typically doesn't mean all that much to me, but this was a transformation! Hallelujah!

I used to have a thing for Claire Leka (http://cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/leka.claire.html).

She's a lot older than me, but Cokie Roberts is so elegant, sophisticated, and smart, I guess I have a little crush on her. Same thing with Christiane Amanpour.

Soledad O'Brien (http://cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/obrien.soledad.html)'s definitely a babe.

Sidsel Overgaard (http://wamu.org/about/people/sidsel_overgaard.php). I used to hear her all the time on NPR, and I had a crush on her voice and her name. I never knew what she looked like.

Rick Leventhal (http://foxnews.com/story/0,2933,1221,00.html) is a favorite of mine. I call him "Mr. Hygene" because when he was "imbedded" during the war in Iraq (travelling with the troops), he'd complain about how he hadn't washed his hair, and about how grungy he felt. One time one of the reporters back at the FoxNews station jokingly said he (Leventhal) was "oversharing," but I totally empathized with him. I wouldn't say that Leventhal is an "OMG, total hottie!!!11!" type of guy. But I like him.

I also like Tony Snow (http://foxnews.com/tonysnow/). I haven't seen him in much lately and hadn't kept up with what he's been up to—didn't know that he has colon cancer until just now, when I looked for a link. Wow, that is awful. I wish him the best. Anyway, he always seems so upbeat and nice—I sure hope he will be okay.

And how can I not like Kurt the Cyberguy (http://ktla.trb.com/news/local/newsstaff/ktla-news-bio-knutsson.story)? Another nice sort of fellow.

Though both of those are incredibly hot, I'm not talking about either of those! Now I'm curious which one I'm talking about - she was recently in a commercial with Christian Amanpour (http://cnn.com/CNN/anchors_reporters/amanpour.christiane.html) where the whole joke was that she couldn't figure out how to say "Iran" or "Iraq" - she keeps saying, "Eye-Ran" and "Eye-Rack", while Christian gets frustrated saying, "Eee-ran...not "Iran a mile"...

I hold fast to my belief that Alison Stewart is the most wonderful woman in tv news land. On Thursday March 17th she again guest-hosted on Olbermann's Countdown show and her final guest was Father Guido Sarducci (aka comic Don Novello). After all the serious news of the day, seeing the lovely Ms. Stewart riff with Fr. Sarducci was a sheer great pleasure.
