In a strange sequence of songs that just randomly played in a row on my iPod, I'm wondering how many more songs out there are about creepy, fetishy, offbeat, weird types...maybe my iPod is trying to tell me something ;)

Madness - In the Middle of the Night
Pink Floyd - Arnold Layne
The Damned - Grimly Fiendish
Oingo Boingo - Little Girls

Folks hoping you'd turn out cool

You're a little touched you know
Angie baby

"Aqualung" - Jethro Tull:

Sitting on a park bench
eyeing little girls with bad intent.
Snot running down his nose
greasy fingers smearing shabby clothes.

The one by the Toadies - Possum Garden or something? - where the narrator is telling his love interest how she'll live forever and never age - because he'll kill her and she'll be in his memory...beyond creepy but a great song...

"And I will treat you well, my sweet angel, so help me Jesus...." Ew.

On review - simulpost on the Toadies - is that a different song? The one I am thinking of is Possum Kingdom...

"Crazy Mary" - Victoria Williams (http://youtube.com/watch?v=3bgQjR8KlD0)

She lived on the curve in the road
In an old tar paper shack.
On the south side of the town
On the wrong side of the tracks.
Sometimes on the way into town
We'd say, "Mama can we stop and give her a ride?"
Sometimes we did
But her hands flew from her side.
Wild eyed
Crazy Mary.

He fills the flower vases,
trims the candle bases
takes small change from the poor box.
Tyler has the key.

Alone in the night he mocks the arms of the preacher raised to the ceiling,
"Tell God your pain."
To him the world's defiled.
In Lot he sees a likeness there;
he swears this Sodom will burn down

"Straw Hat and Dirty Old Hank" by Barenaked Ladies

It's about a stalker, and is partially based on a stalker that Anne Murray had once, even borrowing a few lines directly from some of her songs.

Also, I don't know the name of it but I remember a novelty song back in the late 80's/early 90's about a pervy clown. Maybe somebody else here will remember it.

Edited to add:

Also, "Stan" by Eminem is about an obsessed fan.

Eleanor Rigby (the Beatles' one, not the Doper)

Eleanor Rigby, picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been,
Lives in a dream...
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

Though you can interpret it as just about depressed people, it's still a little creepy. It freaked me the hell out when I first encountered it in seventh grade.

"Straw Hat and Dirty Old Hank" by Barenaked Ladies

It's about a stalker, and is partially based on a stalker that Anne Murray had once, even borrowing a few lines directly from some of her songs. You misplaced two of the words: it's "Straw Hat And Old Dirty Hank", which is a play on the chorus of "The Farmer's Song" by Murray McLauchlan, which starts out, "Straw hat and old dirty hanky, moppin' a face like a shoe (gesundheit)."

A lot of the songs on Coheed and Cambria's In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3 are creepy and weird, and maybe pervy as well: (spoilers)

In Al the Killer, apparently there's a serial killer who targets white girls apparently thinking he will obtain part of their soul in the act.

In The Crowing(IIRC), there is someone who complains that the target of his affection apparently doesnt return it by whining "but you, you were my favorite," which I always imagine as some unrequited lover trashing an apartment or something in anger that his loved one SHOULD love him back just because he does.

And in In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth 3, the singer asks if "the children really understand the things you did to them," although in this case he probably isn't referring to the obvious.

They haven't filled us in on the backstory of this album, though, and the lyrics are sort of opaque so who knows, but they are definitely sung creepily.

Many, many, many Foetus songs, but favourite would be Incesticide:
It's past your bedtime, getting late
Don't want you turning into gatorbait
All I want for Christmas is a chicken delight
And a tasty little morsel to hold on tight

I like to swing and I like to slide
And I carry a can of incesticide
Y'know my son you're just my type
Gotta pick that fruit before it's ripe

No Daddy no! No Daddy no no no!!!!!

Harry Chapin's "Dogtown" involves bestiality between a woman and a dog....

You really think so? I've never heard the song, but I looked up the lyrics, and it looks like they're just guard dogs. I don't see any hint of bestiality.

As to the OP, I'd nominate "Imaginary Lovers" by the Atlanta Rhythm Section (a kinda creepy ode to masturbation) and "I'm On Fire" by Bruce Springsteen:

Hey little girl, is your daddy home?
Did he go away and leave you all alone?
I got a bad desire
Ooooh ooooh I'm on fire....

I'm Walking Behind You, sung by Sinatra a long, long time ago:

I'm walking behind you - on your wedding day
And I'll hear you promise - to love and obey
Though you may forget me - you're still on my mind
Look over your shoulder - I'm walking behind

Maybe I'll kiss again - with a love that's new
But I shall wish again - I was kissing you

'Cause I'll always love you - where ever you go
And though we are parted - I want you to know
That if things go wrong dear - and fate is unkind
Look over your shoulder - I'm walking behind

Yes, I'm a creepy stalker who doesn't take no for an answer. But I sing well!

Oh, and "Mama" by Genesis, which I sometimes think might have been written by Norman Bates at his most Oedipal:

I can't see you, mama
But I can hardly wait
To touch and to feel you, mama
Oh, I just can't keep away...
So say you'll help me, mama
'Cause it's gettin' so hard....

Pretty sure. Weird, though, I just googled the lyrics as a sanity check, and the first hit had lopped off the end of the song. Maybe your site did the same. Anyway, see here (http://music.yahoo.com/Harry-Chapin/Dogtown/lyrics/500908) for the full icky goodness. Such gems as "the fire glints in his [the dog's] eyes...he has been my only husband / am I a widow, or his wife" and "the bastard of a mating / of a woman and a dog" could be metaphorical, but I'm guessing not.

Guster has a couple. Airport Song and Barrel of a Gun come immediately to mind.

Airport Song-
I’m here seeking only what i need
In your mind is where ill plant my seed
It’s for sure
Let me keep you in this place
You’ll be better off this way
I will keep you warm and safe
You’ll be better off this way
You learn to love the price you pay
Trust me dear you’re better off this way

Barrel of a Gun -
Lie back and fast asleep, if you could see what I could see
Drip drop a lovely dream
God damn you movie star, can't you just play a minute more
We'd be the best of friends, you could stay here forever

Four, three, two, one
When at the barrel of a gun
Keep my head way down.
Stay out I'll stay in.
Half dead, half numb
She's enough to make me warm
It's all so safe and sound.

Shy by Sonata Arctica. Not so much pervy, but creepily obsessed.

I can see how you are beautiful, can you feel my eyes on you,
I'm shy and turn my head away
Working late in diner Citylite, I see that you get home alright
Make sure that you can't see me, hoping you will see me

Sometimes I'm Wondering why you look me and you blink your eye
You can't be acting like my Dana (Can you?)
I see you in Citylite diner serving all those meals and then
I see reflection of me in your eye, oh please

Talk to me, show some pity
You touch me in many, many ways
But I'm shy can't you see

"Fiddle About" (Uncle Ernie) -- The Who

And what a doozy! It's about a "deaf, dumb and blind kid" who gets molested by his uncle:

A couple by Oingo Boingo.

Insanity:
And the alchoholic bastard waved his finger at me
His voice was filled with evanglical glee
Sipping down his gin and tonics
While preaching about the evils of narcotics
And the evils of sex, and the wages of sin
While he mentally fondles his next of kin
My mind has wandered from the flock you see
And the flock has wandered away from me
And he waved his hypnotizing finger at me

And of course, Only A Lad:
Johnny was bad, even as a child everybody could tell
Everyone said if you dont get straight
Youll surely go to hell

But johnny didnt care
He was an outlaw by the time that he was
Ten years old
He didnt wanna do what he was told
Just a prankster, juvenile gangster

His teachers didnt understand
They kicked him out of school
At a tender early age
Just because he didnt want to learn things
(had other interests)
He liked to burn things

The lady down the block
She had a radio that johnny wanted oh so bad
So he took it the first chance he had
Then he shot her in the leg
<snip>
Hes underprivileged and abused
Perhaps a little bit confused

His parents gave up they couldnt influence his attitude
Nobody could help
The little man had no gratitude

And when he stole the car
Nobody dreamed that he would
Try to take it so far
He didnt mean to hit the poor man
Who had to go and die
It made the judge cry

Gee, who would have thought that Danny Elfman had a dark side?

Paint It Black is about the singer mourning the death of his love. It mentions the funeral cars:

I thought all the ones I would have named were already named, but I don't see "Ted, Just Admit It" by Jane's Addiction. Not only is it about Ted Bundy and the sensationalist news coverage of his murders, but it also has snippets of a statement from Ted himself in the song.

Whoa! I see what you mean. The lyrics website I found earlier had lopped off the last five stanzas. That really does change things.

School by Apathy is a contender:

I'm sick of gettin pushed around bein' clowned
When I'm the most powerful evil being in town
I wake up at 5:30 and stare into space
Walk into my parents room and shoot 'em both in the face
Take a shower get dressed load my weapon for school
Walk thru the hall, step over the large blood pool
On the bus with a semi-automatic in knapsack
Smile on my face, as I sit in the back
Then I step into the building and I almost feel invincible
Wave to the nurse, say hi to the principal
Walk to to my locker, everything seems slow
Then I Jeff. and here we go
Weapons out the bag, people stop speakin', girls shreikin'
I start shootin' rounds till Jeff's chest is bleedin'
His head explodes then I start to reload
Nobody can hurt me now. cuz I'm in murder mode
Fire at everybody that's directly in my sight
But layin' on the ground on the somebody is I like
This girl who I've known who's always nice and talks to me
Crawls to me, coughin' up blood and awkwardly
Whispers two words right before her head drops
She opened her mouth and said. "please. stop"
I could never begin to describe the way I felt
I dropped to my knees, turned the gun on myself
And pulled the trigger.

The guy in Joni Mitchell's "Rainy Night House" creeps me out.

"Court & Spark", the song not the whole album, is about an actual stalker who was convinced that she looked down from the stage directly at him in the audience while she was performing in SF and sang love songs speficially for him. Months later, he showed up on her doorstep in L.A. begging her to marry him.

"Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who

Should songs about people who are "creepy/pervy/weird" because they are mentally ill count in this thread? To me, "Behind Blue Eyes" is a song about someone who acts the way he does because he's bipolar (i.e., manic depressive).

Anyway, for songs about people who "creepy/pervy/weird" because they're more or less evil, there's Johnny Cash's "Cocaine Blues" and "Delia's Gone."

I was thinking about this thread earlier, and came up with a song about a weird/creepy/perhaps mentally ill girl: "Around Here" by Counting Crows.

Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand
She says she'd like to meet a boy who looks like Elvis....

She parks her car outside my house
Takes her clothes off
Says she's close to understanding Jesus...

She looks up at the building
Says she's thinking of jumping
She says she's tired of life
She must be tired of something...

Sorry if I overquoted the lyrics. Mods, feel free to delete if I did so.

Another one I just thought of is "St. Theresa" by Joan Osborne. The way I interpret the lyrics, it's about a crack whore, and therefore may not be a good fit for this thread.

How about It's Me Again, Margaret (http://lyricsdownload.com/ray-stevens-it-s-me-again-margaret-lyrics.html) by Ray Stevens?

It's about a guy making obscene phone calls. The ending (after he gets arrested) is the funniest part.

Seriously? This far in and no mention of Every Breath You Take by the Police? That's got to be the most direct one of all.It was mentioned in post #18.

Sugar's "A Good Idea" - sounds like a decent enough song at first, a couple in love goes down to the water, at his suggestion they lie down in it and let the water flow over them...
He held her head high in his hands
He held her down deep in the stream
He saw the bubbles and matted hair
Mixed in with seaweed
She started to scream

Is that where it came from? Back in the late 1970s, I heard it on Dr. Demento for several years, then all of a sudden- not. I think it got to be too real.

The mention of Angie Baby reminded me- Delta Dawn. Tho she was only weird, not pervy or really creepy.

And w/o googling, I can't recall who did the song- Helen Reddy or Anne Murray?

Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar), on the same album, also makes a few references to finding "little girls". Given the fact that it's a recurring theme, I always figured "little girls" might just mean "hot coeds". Maybe not, though.

Personally I know the alley
Where Jack feeds on the birds of night
Not even bobbies on bicycles 2x2

...and the movie Taxi Driver (incorporating lines from that film):

All the animals come out at night.
Queens, fairies, dopers, junkies, sick-- venal.
Some day a real rain will come and wash all the scum off the streets.

Thank god for the rain to wash the trash off the sidewalk. Listen you screwheads:
Here is a man who would not take it anymore.
A man who stood up against the scum, the filth.
Now I see clearly.

Alanis Morrissette – “Your House” This was mentioned earlier but it gets my vote for the all time creepiest girl song.

I went to your house
Walked up the stairs
I opened your door without ringing the bell
I walked down the hall
Into your room
Where I could smell you
And I shouldn't be here, without permission
I shouldn't be here

Alanis Morrissette – “You Oughta Know” A nice bitter breakup song from a psycho.

You seem very well, things look peaceful
I'm not quite as well, I thought you should know
Did you forget about me Mr. Duplicity
I hate to bug you in the middle of dinner
It was a slap in the face how quickly I was replaced
Are you thinking of me when you fuck her

Cause the love that you gave that we made wasn't able
To make it enough for you to be open wide, no
And every time you speak her name
Does she know how you told me you'd hold me
Until you died, til you died
But you're still alive

Jewel – “Adrian” A song about a brain damaged guy, creepy more for tone than lyrics.

Sign above his door says 'Welcome Home'
But he just sits and stares
He's awake but he's still not there
Oh, Adrian, come out and play
She sat by his side, watched the years fly by
He looked so fragile, he looked so small
She wondered why he was still alive at all
Little Mary Epperson grew up lovely
She still comes to visit him on Sundays
He's like an unused toy
He's got big hands but the mind of a little boy
Oh, Adrian, come out and play
Adrian came home again last summer
Things just haven't been the same around here

Jewel – “Daddy”

Yes, I left the refrigerator door half open, Daddy.
What's that say about me?
Sometimes I want to rip out your throat, Daddy
For all those things you said that were mean.
Gonna make you just as vulnerable as I was, Daddy
What's that say about me?
Sometimes I want to bash in your teeth, Daddy.
Gonna use your tongue as a stamp
Gonna rip your heart out the way you did mine, Daddy
Go ahead and psycho-analyze that.
'Cause I'm your creation, I'm your love, Daddy.
Grew up to be and do all those sick things you said I'd do
Well last night I saw you sneak out your window
With your white hood, Daddy
What's' that say about you?

Wow, looking back at what I was listening to it’s no wonder the ‘90s were such a fucked up decade for me.

The ‘00s are much better, what with Nickelback’s “Figured You Out”

I like the freckles on your chest
And I like the way you like me best
And I like the way you're not impressed
While you put me to the test
I like the white stains on your dress

And I love the way you pass the check
And I love the good times that you wreck
And I love your lack of self-respect
While you passed out on the deck
I love my hands around your neck

Yes, I’m feeling much better now.

I doubt anyone can listen to Goodbye Horses by Q Lazzarus without thinking of a creepy-fetish guy.

That's not the song's fault, though. It's just because that's the song that Buffalo Bill dances to after dressing up in body parts in Silence of the Lambs. Put on some thick lipstick, crank up that song, and dance around and I bet people will avoid you.

Nick Cave's Red Right Hand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Right_Hand) at first sounds like a serial killer with a bloody hand who lurks in the shadows. It's really a lot of dark personalities rolled in one: drug dealer, pimp, cult leader, mob boss, etc, who corrupt their victims to their eventual demise.

Another Nick Cave classic, The Curse of Millhaven (http://geocities.com/millhavenfanlisting/), describes a girl who murders more than a few people in her hometown, before she's caught and happily confesses to her crimes.
