Ridiculous Hairstyles (Men and Women)

Please post links to pictures...

For men:

I thought this was called a frohawk or a brohawk, but it must have another name...pointed down the center or to a peak, as displayed in this pic of Mike Wallace, NFL wide receiver...

Pointed head

For women:

I think this looks good on very few ladies, if any - the inverted, or reverse bob (are they the same thing?)...

Reverse bob

The Lou Do

Lou Henson, former Illini Basketball Coach, would sort of flip forward and then wind a long frond of thinning hair around his head and spray it in place. Hilarious.

Thats the A-line bob and its so over. Done. To. Death.

Not really a "style" as much as a lack of style, but just extremely long hair (I like reasonably long hair), which is necessarily all stringy and scraggly near the end. I saw a woman a couple days ago with hair to her shins. Looked ridiculous. Why would someone want a hairstyle that is both really high-maintenance AND makes your hair look very neglected?

I guess someone has to mention this abomination. And his hair, too.

Thanks. I should have recognized that as it was engraved on my wedding ring.

I love Victoria Beckham's hair. No matter what she does with it, it looks amazing! She's like my hair idol. Too bad my facial shape and hair type are like the opposite of hers.

If the needle jockey had any balls, he'd have inked the text of Leviticus 19:28 in Hebrew on Miss Posh Spice.
You shall not make cuts in your flesh for a person [who died]. You shall not etch a tattoo on yourselves. I am the Lord.

Oh, and that Bieber bowl cut just looks like a 65ish Beatle cut to me.

There's a woman's hairstyle which I really dislike, that makes the woman look like she has a ong pointy head at the back. Not sure what it's called, though, so I can't link a photo, but it sort of looks like the woman in the first panel of this comic: http://fborfw.com/strip_fix/2013/10/...ber-3-2013.php

I'm not so fond of Janelle Monae's hair.

Good singer, ugly hairstyle.

I can't find a photo, but for the past ten years or so I keep seeing a shortish haircut with thick bangs, longer pieces framing the face but the back is buzzed to about 3/4 inch length. The wearer gels the short hair in the back at bristled right angles like a pissed off hedgehog, but the front is carefully sculpted, smoothed towards the face and polished. It's incredibly unflattering and somehow looks hostile.

Longish hair pulled back in a ponytail with a center part?

Yes, but if I am understanding, it's the one with the back bumped out.

No, the hairstyle I'm thinking of never involves a ponytail. It's a style of short hair. It's just sort of the general shape it is in that comic.

No man in the history of hair has ever looked good with a combover. Do I really need to provide examples?

Kind of, but the point is more towards the back of the head than on top.

What do people think of short sides but normal top (for both men and women)? Like http://mens-hairstyle.com/wp-con...k-and-side.jpg It's very popular now.

Ick on men, absolutely awful on women.

I dislike this ponytail with a poof on top that has been popular lately.

I love that haircut! Especially when it's very crisp and 1920s -- so chic.

I like it. (Well I should, since that's the style I currently have.) I think it looks really cool on women. I've received so many compliments from strangers after I cut my hair in that style.

I always wonder - how do you change your hairstyle when you get sick of it? You can't just let this grow out, right?

Another one for young men that I have seen is one I call the Tintin - like the French boy detective, fairly short all over but longer and flipped up in front, like this (the cartoon, not a photo).

I think both of these are designed so that young men can show off that they still have plenty of hair in places where they will probably lose it later to male pattern baldness. I say this because I don't have hair in those places. No, I am not bitter.

Here's another picture from the movie of a couple of years ago.

Almost all the styles in the thread are what I like to call "reverse mullets," which I don't understand at all. They are all like inside-out mullets or the mullet at the top instead of the back and combed backwards.

I generally don't find any women with short hair attractive, and I place mulleted women in this category. What I do find interesting though, is some of these shorter women's hairstyles remind me of a style popular with a clique of girls in my high school in the mid 90s. I think most kids referred to them as "Yo girls"- they were white teen girls with short, usually thick hairstyles, huge hoop earrings, and baggy clothing.

That style reminds me of Jimmy Darmody from Boardwalk Empire.

I have no idea if these were actual styles in the 1920s...

I don't know how this ever became trendy but it's absolutely awful and it's the kind of thing that 20-30 somethings who are wearing it will look back in 20 years and go "wtf was I thinking?"

Skrillex for those of you like me who don't know who Skrillex is.

The boys around here really, really seem to like the old school Bieber. It's funny to watch them flipping their hair around and patting it carefully into place.

You know, I did a Google search on top knot hairstyle, and you're right. They vary from "silly" to "really silly."

I was wondering who was the female star with the criticized haircut not so recently? Then I found out it was her. Again. https://twitter.com/The_HelenKeller/...21356629098497

Not that we had cool hair back in the late 80s/early 90s, but we would have NEVER been caught dead in something so effeminate as Bieber's do.

The Bettie Page do with the short bangs is hideous. It makes women look mentally disabled. IMHO
bangs of any sort are generally a bad idea.
