Okay, guys: blonde, brunette, or redhead?

Me, I'm brunette all the freakin' way. Just something about dark shades which does me, even dating back to when I was a preschooler and liked the cute Argentinian girl that lived down the street.

I voted "redhead", since those are the types which seem to grab my interest in the media, but of the four women I've actually fallen in love with, three were brunette, and one was auburn-haired.

No preference, with redheads being my favorite lack of preference.

Why no "all of the above" option?

(Okay, "no preference" is sort of the same thing.)

My wife is blonde. She says I'm weird for redheads.

+1. I voted redhead, but basically it's a preference, not a requirement.

Redhead first, but only if natural. It's a weakness, because every redhead I've known was the spawn of Mephistopheles. Still if I wasn't married, I would probably be dating redheads. Close behind are brunettes, the darker the better.

Blondes, real or fake, trail.

Of course, this is just talking about aesthetics, and a nice, funny, playful blonde is better than a bitchy, mean brunette. That said, being my kryptonite, any redhead would win out.

Blondes turn my head, but the ones who have driven me out of my mind have always been brunettes. Apart from the redhead I was with for seven years.

No preference. Also, I don't care if the curtains and carpet match. Hell, even linoleum is good.

I chose brunette on the basis of one ex who was the sexiest woman I have ever known. Otherwise, I'd say I don't have a preference.

What, no black? Are they really that uncommon to be subsumed under "other" or are they considered a subset of brunettes?

Hair color is so far down on the list, that I can't say it really matters. And it depends on the woman. Some women look great as blondes, and others look great as brunettes. I guess the only preference I have is not so much liking the redheads. But I think that is because of the overall look that many redheads have, and not so much the color of the hair alone.

Shrug. Anything unusual can get my attention, but there's no fascination with a particular color. On Friends (which I rarely watched), Phoebe the blonde was my favorite. On the original Charles Angels (which I never watched, but saw magazine articles about) the dark brunette (Kate?) caught my eye.

My fantasies usually involve blondes, but the loves of my life (including my wife) have all been brunettes. I'm not sure what that says about me.

This is so personal

There must be something to that blonde-fire connection. Blondes generally seem hotter. Red heads may be hot, but often psycho(sorry ladies, these are stereotypes).

In the final analysis, it's all good, even bald.

I had a preference for pale-ish guys with dark/black hair, but was open to pretty much anything.

I'm really surprised that blonde is so far behind in the poll.

The thing about brunette is that it covers such a wide variety of colors, it's almost useless as a classification.

Blondes have always grabbed my attention. My wife is a light brunette (or dark blonde), but I dig it when she takes to the bottle to lighten it even more.

In principle, redheads, and that's what I answered in the poll. In practice, though, real redheads are rare enough that the hottest women tend to be brunettes, just because they have more opportunities for extreme outliers.

Although, to be honest, I've also seen some women who look incredible as verdes, too. Though that's generally pretty obviously not natural.

On the traditional 1 to 10 scale red hair adds 2-3 points. Natural of course. Currently I am dating a very pale natural blonde. Not a deal breaker. Been with mostly brunettes and married one. Of course red hair on a guy is just freaky .

Don't have a strong preference, although redheads catch my attention due to being uncommon. Obvious bleached blondes are a turnoff, but naturals (or well-done bleached) are fine.

It doesnt matter to me at all. My partner has naturally dark brown hair and often had it dyed blond. I like both of them. Hell, my own hair has been just about every color.

Brunette easily. Brunette women will be scores more attractive than a blonde woman (natural or otherwise) of the same body size/shape.

Redhead women are so few and far between where I live that I really can't even say how they stack up against blondes or brunettes.

Don't get me wrong -- I love blondes, even if it's a fake color. The most beautiful woman I ever met is blonde.

I just got out of a meeting with a coworker, and I was thinking about this thread. She could conceivably be considered any of the three colors. I guess she's a copper.

Doesn't matter much to me. My wife was a natural blonde but her hair turned light brown when she got pregnant with our first kid. A month after our son was born it went back to blonde. When she got pregnant a second time it went light brown again, and stuck there. To be honest I don't spend a whole lot of time looking at her hair, I like other parts of her better

So much of it depends on the hairstyle itself, and of coarse the woman standing under it. A page boy cut is really cute, but only in black, and especially on an Asian woman. Long straight fine hair is great in any color, but works best in blonde. It's also amazingly sexy in blonde with black roots, which is a legitimate style now.

How do you translate "La nuit tous les chats sont gris"? Although it does work better with the feminine form.

As far as hair color, here's my preference, from favorite to least:

Black
Brown
Red
Dirty Blonde
Bald
Platinum Blonde

Of course the given person can make those change around a lot.

This. And I've gotta say that I prefer kind of a darker red--all other things equal.

Now, them orange redheads, well, not my fave.

All but a very few of the most important women of my life are/were brunette--mother, grandmothers, wife, girlfriends and one out of two sisters. (My mother's father was a redhead and some aunts and one sister have/had red and/or reddish light brown hair.)

I voted blonde.

My first four girlfriends were blonde, including the little blonde girl that lived up the street when I was in 1st grade.

I guess I've been imprinted. Not that I'm griping...

I've heard second-hand about more people having called me sweet than a bitch, so...either I'm not hellspawn, or they're way too scared of me to risk bad-mouthing getting back to me.

As for the boys, I highly favor black/dark brown hair. Lighter shades of brown are not unappealing, though. And the occasional blond is interesting, but a fellow redhead is right out: a. people always ask if other redheads are related (not to mention my actual brother is a redhead) so, awkward! b. if I had kids with another redhead, all of our kids would most likely have red hair too, and being a lil redhead isn't something I'd wish on kids I didn't like, nevermind my own.

In the interest of full disclosure, I *used* to be a very dark-brown-haired woman - the front has more grey than brown now.

Well, I haven't met you, and my sample size is likely to be statistically invalid. It could just be Mephistopheles sending his daughters to me, preying on my weakness, for his own fun.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean he isn't really out to get me.

I voted "other". Among the natural hair colors, I have no preference. For the past eight years I've been dating a brunette who was originally a blonde, but darkened over the course of our relationship. I like all of the natural hair colors, and hair is not the first thing that stands out to me when I look at a woman.

I do, however, have a thing for dyed redheads. I'm told that it's strange because I'm almost a puritan in other respects; I strongly dislike tattoos and most piercings other than ear and nose (assuming the nose ring is a small stud). I'm usually anti-body mod in general; however, something about dyed red hair gets me. A quick perusal of Google images turned out the following charming fake-red ladies:

http://hayleyfashion.info/hair/cherryred/13.jpg
http://hellomagazine.com/imagene...yl-hair--z.jpg
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-I_fvWH-_bf...redhilites.jpg
edit: this one is a bikini picture. SFW? http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload...f-6475e9f17e40

Ok, I admit the last one didn't come from a random Google search . Something about that fake red hue really does it for me though. Shame I don't see it often IRL.

Redheads all the way.
